A 100-year-old Hawkchurch woman has had a tree planted for her birthday.
Hawkchurch Historical Society planted the crab apple tree, known in Latin as Malus Robusta, for member Jill Bennett on Saturday, February 6.
Society chairman Richard Thwaites said: "Jill was thrilled. We decided to mark her birthday because it's not everyday that someone celebrates a 100th birthday.
"To look at Jill you'd think she was 80.
"She's an exceptional lady and an inspiration to the society, village - everybody.
