Tribute to former Lord of the Manor

A FORMER Lord of the Manor in Honiton is to be commemorated with a plaque in the town.

A FORMER Lord of the Manor in Honiton is to be commemorated with a plaque in the town.Honiton Town Council is backing a plan, by the Retired Chartered Engineers' Club, to erect a plaque in memory of the late Joseph Locke.Mr Locke was involved in the extension of the railway line to Exeter and once owned a 500-acre estate in Honiton, which carried with it the title of Lord of the Manor. If approved by East Devon District Council, the plaque will be placed next to another on Honiton's Trafalgar Way memorial.
