Enter a competitor in the annual race for just £1

The Great Chardstock Duck Race returns on Sunday (June 5).

It starts at noon when the yellow plastic competitors will be released from Mill Bridge on the River Kit.

The first ones to ‘swim’ past Kit Bridge win prizes. A barbecue will be available at Kit Bridge.

Ducks may be purchased now, for £1, from Chardstock Stores and Post Office or on the day – but there are only 500 available so buy yours early is the advice from organisers.

This year some ‘rare breeds’ will be taking part in the race and organiser are inviting bids for these ducks via their Facebook page (Chardstock Street Fayre). Successful bidders will be able to keep their ‘special’ ducks after the race.

Last year’s race was a wonderful day, and more than £500 was raised for good causes.
