Coastguard helicopter winches BBC presenter Steve Blackshall from the sea
STARS of the popular BBC children’s TV show “Live n Deadly” were involved in a dramatic air sea “rescue” at Lyme Regis on Saturday.
The show, broadcast live from the resort, featured presenter Steve Backshall being “saved” from the water by the RNLI lifeboat and the Portland based coastguard helicopter.
The simulated rescue, watched by around one million young viewers, was rehearsed on Friday evening in case of bad weather.
Lifeboat chiefs deliberately picked a young crew to take part in the filming - helmsman Tim Edwards and 19-year-olds Grace Wadsworth and Ritchie Durrant.
