Two exhibitions are running concurrently at Lyme Regis’s Town Mill Galleries – offering art lovers a variety of media, styles and materials to view.
Following a successful exhibition in 2014, five established local artists are inviting visitors to indulge in a ‘Return to the Wild’ at The Malthouse Gallery, a showcase of their latest nature-inspired paintings, ceramics, photographs and sculptures.
The exhibitions are running from Thursday, October 6, to Wednesday, October 19.
The artists comprise photographer Mervyn West, artists Elizabeth Wilson and Trisha Hayman, ceramicist Linda Bristow and sculptor Toni West.
At The Courtyard Gallery, ‘Faces and Places’ brings together two Lyme-based artists to display their talents in painting, portraiture, landscapes, textiles, collage and printing.
Russian-born Maria Barbashina, who paints in oils, and Australian-born Jennie Pearson, who works in collage, dyeing and print, will both showcase their artwork.
The exhibitions are open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Phil Clayton, arts curator and trustee of the Town Mill, said: “We are delighted to have seven such talented and distinctive artists showing at the same time in our galleries. Six of them are regular exhibitors, back by popular demand - and we are especially pleased to welcome Russian-born, Lyme-based landscape and portrait painter Maria Barbashina, who will be exhibiting with us for the first time.”
