Lyme Regis lifeboat called to vessel with engine trouble off Charmouth

Two men aboard a broken down fishing boat were rescued last night (Monday, September 15) by the volunteer crew of Lyme Regis lifeboat.

The alarm was raised as the 18 foot boat - My Joy - developed engine trouble near the Charmouth outflow buoy, around two miles off shore, and the lifeboat was launched at 8.20pm.

The lifeboat towed the fishing boat and its crew to the safety of Lyme Regis harbour.

This was the 25th emergency call for Lyme Regis RNLI so far this year.
