A champion ultra runner sets her sights on running the Edinburgh Marathon after competing in Switzerland.
A champion ultra runner from Honiton will be representing Hospiscare when she competes in the Edinburgh marathon.
Heather Foundling-Hawker, who has competed in various world championships, will be representing the charity at the event on May 27.
She is definitely no stranger to running and has won three gold and two silver medals as well as a bronze after representing Great Britain in ultra running.
She has competed at three world championships and recently came fourth in the Swiss national 24-hour championships in Basel enduring rain and humid temperatures of up to 36 degree resulting in a tough race for Heather.
After 21 hours of constant running she regrettably had to retire from the race.
She said: “I am disappointed yet grateful for the opportunity and want to say a big thank you to Otter Vale Rotary Club for their encouragement and financial help towards the trip.”
Sponsorship forms are available from the Hospiscare Shop in Honiton.
