First, I couldn't believe my ears as I listened to several elderly persons tutting about my children for having fun on the beach!

Then, in the best child-friendly cafe we could find, we had to sit through more horrible muttered comments and staring, because my children dared to speak.

In the Co-op, someone told my two-year-old son off for quietly singing to himself - both times we went in there!

Then, in the town centre, a very haughty man barged my six-year-old daughter over because apparently he has priority over the pavement.

Next year, we'll go to Lyme or Sidmouth, thanks very much.
