POLICE have conducted door-to-door inquiries in the Queens Walk area of Lyme Regis following the discovery of a body of a man this morning in nearby Anning Road.
Dorset Police is treating the death as unexplained.
Officers are in the process of formally identifying the dead man, who was pronounced dead at around 8.42am.
Local residents have told the midweek Herald that they believe a serious crime may have been committed.
A 25-year-old Queens Walk resident said: "Forensic teams are still at the scene.
"Police knocked on my door earlier, to ask if I had seen or heard anything out of the ordinary overnight.
