Inquest due to be opened today (Thursday) following fatal fire at Lee Close, Honiton.

Police have confirmed that a fatal fire in Honiton which claimed the lives of three young people began in a first floor bedroom.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “It has been confirmed that the fire began in a first floor bedroom at the property.

“The full circumstances surrounding how the fire started have yet to be established.

“The fire is not being treated as suspicious and no-one is sought in connection with the incident.”

The fire at Lee Close occurred last friday and claimed the lives of Rosie Bennellick, 17, Harvey Bennellick, aged three, and Rosie’s boyfriend Andy Gunn, 18, from Bishopsteignton.

The coroner is today (Thursday) expected to open an inquest into the deaths.
