Police hold 47-year-old former resident after gas main fire

Police were today (Tuesday, December 10) still holding a 47-year-old man following a gas main fire in Seaton on Sunday.

Crews from Seaton, Colyton, Axminster and Sidmouth attended the incident in Cross Street at around 5.45pm.

Residents in adjoining flats had to be evacuated flats due to smoke logging.

Later a 47-year-old man, formerly of Seaton but now living in Falmouth, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and was still being held in police custody this morning.
