But they are still being sought - as witnesses.
RESIDENTS in High Street, Honiton, want police to pick up a vandal who targeted their home - and returned an hour later to steal a statue.
The statue of an acorn was stolen at around 2.29am on Saturday. At around 1am a vandal was seen knocking the statue off its mount - watched by two people dressed as penguins.
Police are appealing for information and would urge the penguins to come forward as witnesses.
