ORGANISERS of Uplyme fete on Saturday had plenty to smile about, despite the rain.
Undeterred by the weather, the crowds again turned out in force and around �1,100 profit was made for village hall funds.
The procession was led by Lyme town crier Phil Street – who opened the event – accompanied by the two fete princesses, Rose Trafford and Ella Hawkins, travelling in John Pennington’s vintage Bentley.
Some 15 local charitable organisations had stalls to raise funds for their own groups. including Uplyme church youth group who threw sponges at Vicar Gavin Tyte.
Entertainment was provided by Uplyme Morris, Black Velvet band and Woodroffe School Early Music Group.
