A VEHICLE was towed away in Colyton after it obstructed several residents entering their driveway in Rosemary Lane.

The owner was also issued with a 30 fixed penalty notice and will have to pay 150 to have the vehicle released, plus 20 a day storage.

PCSO Mike McGauley visited the area on Wednesday, February 10, and said it was the only option open to officers after they tried to identify the owner.

He said: "We would like to remind vehicle owners that if their vehicle is causing an obstruction or a danger to other road users, then it could be towed away."

He gave the following examples: blocking driveway access, obstructing road injunctions (vehicles should park a minimum of 10 metres from the centre of a junction); not allowing free passage of vehicles - and to leave enough room for fire engines to pass; vehicles parked on pavements causing users to walk in the road; and vehicles should not park in bus stops.
