ENERGY efficiency measures and better heating are to be installed at Axmouth Village Hall thanks to a donation by Devon County Council. The 6,000, from the sale of Exeter International Airport, was allocated by Seaton Coastal County councillor Margaret Rogers from her local projects fund. The money will pay for loft insulation, secondary glazing and a replacement heating system. This is expected to encourage more people to use the hall's facilities and make it a more comfortable environment for existing users including a pre-school group.Mrs Rogers said: "I am delighted that this scheme is to benefit so that the village hall can reduce its carbon emissions and the hall will be warmer and cheaper to operate, making it more affordable to local groups."Axmouth is a lively community which does a lot to help itself through modest initiatives."Chairman of the village hall management committee, Keith Lawes, said: "We're delighted to have been chosen to benefit from this scheme. The Village Hall is an important centre for community life and this money will help improve it for everyone.
