Dozens of willing hands set to spruce up the resort ready for The Grizzly

Hundreds are expected to roll up their sleeves for Seaton’s annual Big Clean on Saturday, as the resort prepares to host The Grizzly.

The March 5 tidy up, organised by the town council and town development team, takes place between 9.30am and 11.30am.

Areas scheduled to be tidied include the beach, West Walk, Fisherman’s Gap, and promenade area. Volunteers should meet at Fisherman’s Gap at 9.15am and wear sturdy shoes and bring gardening or workman’s gloves. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Big Clean is designed to spruce up the resort for the many families, businesses and school groups who are expected to attend The Grizzly. Local businesses, including Frydays, are donating a free coffee to volunteers afterwards. East Devon District CouncilDDC is providing vizvests and clean-up gear and clearing away the rubbish collected.

Town councillor Martin Piggott said: “We hope that many people will join us. The Big Clean is a great way for the whole community to come together to show how much we value the town.”
