AN ICONIC war-time Nissen hut is to return to Dunkeswell from its current site in Umborne Hall.
The historic building will be dismantled in March and delivered back to the airfield - where it accommodated American airmen during World War II.
For more than 60 years it has stood in Umborne, but after years of fundraising, it is finally to be replaced by a new building.
The Umborne Institute Trustees have raised �41,000 and gained �27,000 in grants.

But around �20,000 is outstanding to complete the job, which is expected to take 12 weeks.
The hut used to offer a meeting place to residents, including the WI.
The last event will be held on February 26, with a soup and pudding evening for the people who have kept the hut running over the years.
