Members of the public found with alcohol in no drinking zones in Honiton could face being fined by police.

Police in Honiton are warning members of the public that anyone found with alcohol in no drinking zones risks being fined and having their alcohol seized.

The warning comes after reports of rubbish, including beer bottles and cans, being left in Allhallows Field – a designated no drinking zone. PCSO Dave Keeler said: “Recently there has been a problem on the field with broken bottles, and beer cans and general rubbish, which is not only unsightly, but also a danger for children that play in the area.

“Anyone caught drinking alcohol on the playing fields by the police, could have their alcohol seized and disposed of and are also liable to be fined.”
