The Bible shares everything.

This Sunday is, in the Church of England’s diary, Bible Sunday – a day to remember the gift of the Bible, the Holy Scriptures of our faith.

A book filled with the stories of God’s relationship with human beings, from the early days of the Jewish people, through to the formation of the nation of Israel, up to the stories of Jesus, Son of God, and the beginnings of the church and accounts of the start of Christianity spreading throughout the world.

You may wonder why the church has such a day, after all we use the Bible all the time in services and prayers, and many of us read the Bible every day. But the fact that we have, through God’s goodness, a book which shares – warts and all – stories of humanity’s relationship with God is an incredible gift. And one we could, and perhaps should, all make more of.
