Neil Hurlock is rejecting rumours that TRIP Honiton is closing down.

A Honiton mobility charity has moved to debunk rumours circulating in town that it is closing down.

TRIP, based in New Street, announced last week that it would be closing down its charity shop in order to save money.

Neil Hurlock, manager of TRIP, said the revelation sparked several rumours which are flying around town.

Mr Hurlock said: “We have been asked if we are closing down, stopping doing disability aids completely and not doing our car services anymore.

“I really don’t know where these are all coming from - I can assure residents that we will continue to provide all the same services as before.”

Mr Hurlock said that the shop’s stock will be relocated to the charity’s main New Street offices from the now-closed unit next door.

He added: “It is going back to as it used to be prior to opening the shop.”
