Following the successful use of Wendy’s Community Bus to deliver meals from the Random Kitchen to Honiton and its surrounding villages over the Christmas and New Year period Tony McCollum has handed over the bus keys to TRIP who will manage its free use by non-profit making local community groups and organisations.
This was the wish of the late Wendy Woolcombe’s family who donated the refurbished bus to the people of Honiton in her memory.
The donation and preparation were a joint project instigated by Wendy’s family which included Daryl and Scott Dylan and councillor McCollum.
The collaboration between Tony and the family also lead to the on-going generous rescue package for the Beehive and a spectacular charity project to be developed over the next few months which will see charitable benefits not just in Honiton but throughout Devon in memory of Wendy, who sadly passed away in The Glen in 2018.
Tony said: “Wendy loved Honiton and its people and her memory lives on with those who knew her, loved her and hold such fond memories of her time with us.”
