A lashing of wet weather failed to dampen spirits at Littletown Primary Academy in Honiton, which held its summer fete last week.

Instead, organisers simply held the fun indoors.

The fete was put on by the school’s Parents, Teachers and Friends’ Association (PTFA), and offered a wide array of activities and contests for the youngsters to enjoy.

These included a face painting stall, a hook-a-duck game, a tasty cake stall and barbecue and a lively performance from the school’s gymnastics club.

PTFA member Sarah Ryerson said: “It was a great success, despite the weather and everyone had a good time.

“Hopefully, we raised lots of money.

“Thanks to everyone who came and supported us on the day.

“Hopefully next year’s fete will be a lot drier!”

The money raised from the fete will be spent by the PTFA on outdoor playing equipment for children, and some extra classroom essentials.
