My thanks to 42 people who contacted me, following a recent letter in this newspaper, saying they thought my idea to regenerate the west end of Honiton a helpful solution to problems at Lace Walk car park.
But nine Honiton town councillors are determined to destroy any democratic views of Honiton residents' feelings.
With the loss of 42 car parking spaces in Lace Walk, motorists will stop bringing trade or employment to Honiton and, with two retail outlets given planning permission off Exeter Road, with free car parking, even fewer people will shop in the town centre.
The nine Honiton councillors are behaving like East Devon district councillors have done to Seaton town residents, according to letters printed in the Midweek Herald. Seaton is now a broken community.
This feeling can easily follow to Honiton residents. We must have a public meeting or something where residents have the final choice.
Over the last 20 years, Honiton has suffered by mistakes made by local authorities.
The list is considerable, too much detail to contain in this letter.
To all Honiton residents, please make your opinions known.
