COLFORD WI members could be trying their hands - and legs - at pole dancing, having been inspired by the risque antics of groups across the country.

COLFORD WI members could be trying their hands - and legs - at pole dancing, having been inspired by the risque antics of groups across the country.Talking during the monthly meeting, President Angela Parker read an article about the ventures of other WIs, calling on members to suggest future activities.She told the Herald: "People think it's all jam and Jerusalem, but it's not. I do hope we will be doing pole dancing - it would be something fun to do." WI secretary Margaret Barrow added they had had belly dancing lessons in the past, and that it might be time to try such an aerobic work out again.Aside from dancing, she said she enjoyed the social aspect of the WI."We welcome new members and young people," she said. "The WI provides a support network and many people have made friends through it." The WI has been running since 1975 and currently has 35 members. To join, contact Mrs Barrow on (01297) 553883.
