IT has been several months since the debate about Tesco's relocation was aired in the press. It is not settled yet. At the time, many townsfolk expressed their concerns, both for and against. Both the town and district councils rejected Tesco's application but, as expected, Tesco appealed. To show how democracy works, we have the opportunity to attend the inquiry on November 11 at the Knowle. When the town council held a public meeting in the Mackarness Hall, 400 people attended. Many spoke out to give their views and again, I understand, they would have the opportunity to reiterate their concerns to the Planning Inspectorate. The residents of Ottery Moor Lane and Exeter Road will be there.Even if you do not attend to address the inquiry, come to witness the debate on a major issue in our locality.John CrewThe StableLees BuildingsKing StreetHoniton
