AN undisclosed sum of cash was stolen from a 61-year-old Honiton woman after a man barged into her house.

AN undisclosed sum of cash was stolen from a 61-year-old Honiton woman after a man barged into her house.The woman had withdrawn the money from a bank in the town and had only just returned home when a man came to her door in High Street at around 2.45pm last Wednesday.A police spokesperson told the Herald: "She answered the door to a man who barged past her into the house and grabbed the cash from inside."The offender ran off on foot.His is described as a white male, in his mid to late 30s and about six ft tall. He was well-built and slightly fat, with cropped short hair that was dark brown or black and receding at the sides almost into a point on the forehead. Police are appealing for information about the suspect. He was wearing a blue zipped tracksuit top with light coloured piping on the seams and a round neck collar, and dark coloured trousers.Anybody with information is urged to call police on 08452 777444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
