Firefighters from Axminster, Colyton and Seaton fought a blaze which broke out in a roof on Monday.

Crews arrived at the scene, near Axminster, at 10.54am and tackled the blaze, with the help of a supporting engine from Lyme Regis and the Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service.

The fire broke out at a property in Northfield, Musbury.

Officers fought the blaze, which had spread to adjoining properties, with six breathing apparatus, two thermal imaging cameras, two hose reel jets, one main jet and one safety jet.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service added: “One female was treated for minor burns to her foot and smoke inhalation by ambulance personnel.”

The fire broke out on one of the hottest days of the UK - with the south of the country sweltering in heat of more than 30 degrees.
