WORK on Honiton's long-awaited community centre complex is unlikely to start before the end of the year, it has been confirmed.A statement, issued by Councillor Vernon Whitlock, Mayor of Honiton and a tireless community centre supporter, stated: "Following recent reports in the press, Honiton Town Council would like to clarify that it has been having continuous meetings and discussions with other partners regarding the proposed complex. "Since the failure of the Lottery bid, much of this discussion has concentrated on options now available with the more limited funding."A report is to be presented to the council's policy committee on June 23.
