Lyme lifeboat crew remove vessel from the harbour as the storm takes hold
Lyme Regis lifeboat crew towed a 28 yacht from its mooring in the harbour to a trailer yesterday (Sunday) ahead of last night’s big storm.
The decision as made to move the vessel to safety on dry land.
Harbourmaster Grahame Forshawe feared the yacht might break its moorings, so agreed with the owner that it should be taken out of the water.
He said: “In fact, it was an extremely useful lifeboat exercise during the training session, and proved quite an attraction for many visitors to the Cobb.”
