You naughty little Nymphos!

I went to Honiton Carnival with my family on October 25 and we all enjoyed the festivities. That was until Nymphos CC's offering crested the hill. We were shocked and amazed to see the blatant sexual innuendo presented by their float. We watched with horror as it slowly passed by. I can't actually repeat the jokes as I'm sure that the subject of anal sex is not one that the paper would like to carry. When we left the carnival we decided that we needed to say something. Considering that ill placed smut is top of the news at the moment, with Messrs Ross and Brand, I thought that it might be prudent to try and ensure that this float was not allowed to take part in Ottery's carnival. My mum called the Mayor of Ottery and he will be calling Steve Pearsey, chairman of Ottery Carnival Committee, to try and see if we can pre-empt the club getting anymore exposure. I was saddened that Honiton Carnival Committee allowed this club to join the procession but to give them 3rd place in the comedy section just defied belief. Don't get me wrong, I am not a prude. I love a good laugh and a bit of naughtiness, but this was just inappropriate. There's a place and a time for risque jokes and a family carnival is not it! Lorna Brice-Nye By email
