Teenager gives up part of her summer to help the Axe Valley and West Dorset Ring and Ride service.

A young supporter of the Axe Valley and West Dorset Ring and Ride service has been giving the charity a helping hand this summer.

Niamh Stoneham, the granddaughter of the charity’s chairman Sandra Ward, has been spending some of her summer holiday with the ring and ride service and helping with fund-raising efforts.

The 14-year-old lives in Surrey but loves to spend time in Devon.

She is also working towards her bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

Niamh helped with a fund-raising stall which was held last Thursday at the Co-operative store in Axminster.

The event raised £53.

Mrs Ward told the Midweek Herald that Axminster Care has pledged to match fund the money raised - pushing the total up to £106.

Mrs Ward thanked the Co-operative store for its assistance and said the stall was very busy on the day.

Axe Valley and West Dorset Ring and Ride is a registered charity and is also supported by Dorset County Council.
