AXMINSTER police are calling on youngsters in the area to join them for the Commando Challenge 10km tactical event.
Following the success of last year's team, Pc Kevin Bennett is trying to organise teams of young people to take part in the Royal Marine challenge this year.
The event takes place on Sunday, April 25, and youngsters must be physically fit or at least prepared to train.
The 'tactical' element is a 'mission' where teams work together in a patrol - such as grenade throwing (with dummies), moving a broken down vehicle, casualty evacuation, problem solving, resupplying stores such as ammunition, obstacle navigation, firing realistic air-soft weapons and battlefield pyrotechnics.
Training sessions start from the end of the month up until the event.
The aim is to get fit, have fun, and raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
