Youngsters rewarded for their hard work

Emilene Yaxley-Doble, 11, scooped the title of the Guide of the Year for 1st Honiton Guides, while nine-year-old Willow Ryerson was crowned Brownie of the Year for 2nd Honiton Brownies.
Two youngsters from Honiton’s guides and brownies have been recognised for their hard work and effort last year.
Carol Gilson, founder of the Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme, recently visited the groups to present two shields to the winners, who were joined by team leader Lisa Gorman.
Emilene Yaxley-Doble, 11, scooped the title of the Guide of the Year for 1st Honiton Guides, while nine-year-old Willow Ryerson was crowned Brownie of the Year for 2nd Honiton Brownies.
Willow had collected 20 badges throughout 2015.

Carol said: “It is wonderful to see someone so young having so many badges. I was very proud to present the shield to her.”
Speaking on the success of the two groups, Carol added: “It was great to see so many youngsters taking part in the organisations.

The shields were presented on behalf of the Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme, which was founded by Carol following the death of her husband.
The scheme, which donates mobility aids to people in need, has helped more than 200 people to date.
