A 'TREASURE Box' has been put in Seaton Tourist Information Centre to raise money for charity.The box for Guide Dogs collects unwanted items such as: keys, mobile phones (with SIM card removed), watches, jewellery, coins, notes and left over holiday money.Volunteer for Guide Dogs for the Blind Julie Richens and Daisy, the guide dog, have been checking how much 'treasure' can be recycled.TIC manager Karen Chipperfield said: "We are delighted to help with this cause, especially as Julie and Daisy are local."It will help the Guide Dogs and also attract local people to visit the TIC during the off-peak months."The TIC has released its new brochures and is encouraging people to book National Express tickets and Brittany Ferry journeys through them.The centre is open Fridays and Saturdays (11am to 2pm) during February, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (from 10.30am to at least 1pm) in March.For further information call (01297) 21660 or visit www.seatontic.com
