The Feniton Over-60s League B team are top of Division Five after two fine wins, writes Roger Smith.
First up they were 34-28 winners over St Thomas C, with the winning rink the one of A Morgan, D Downs and D Coyne, 19-13.
Then, in what was a top-of-the-table clash with Madeira, they won 45-25 with both rinks enjoying success; L Crook, D Downs and D Coyne, 26-7 and T Cox, L Ley and R Clarke, 45-25.
However, the A team had mixed fortunes, defeating fellow relegation candidates Budleigh Salterton 41-32. The winning rinks were M Evans, D Sanders and R North, 24-16 and J Livings, G Phillips and J Skinner,17-16. Unfortunately, they lost away to Ottery St Mary, beaten 45-35, banking one point for a tied rink.
The ladies lost their Over-50s match against Exonia, beaten 35-32. The winning rink was the one of V Murdoch, D Bowden and D Phillips 20-13.
