Jake Smith smashed his personal best (PB) and the course record in winning the Seaton Parkrun on the penultimate Saturday of 2017, writes Dave Mutter.
Smith crossed the finish line in a time of 15:15 and he was two minutes ahead of the next person home, Joe Woodley of Skyrac AC, who finished in a time of 17:15.
Chet Gillespie, 17:19, was third home and Phoebe Clark was first female in 19:45 with AVR’s Eleanor Wood second female in 21:20 which was also a new PB for her.
Meanwhile, on Christmas Day 179 people ran a special edition of the Parkrun, unfortunately many didn’t register, but Kevin Hawker came second in 19:23 and Karen Ayre was the second lady home in 22:13.
But what a start to the festivities as all the participants made room for their festive feasts, but special thanks to all who gave up their Christmas morning to help.
