The Axe Cliff men’s Open was well supported by members and away clubs, writes Pete Motson.
The format was full handicap, maximum 24, with stableford rules and the teams of three competed with two scores to count.
First place, with an impressively high score of 87 points went to the Axe Cliff threesome of Steve Reed, Steve Bond and Jason Farrant.
The second team, a mixed team hailing from Axe Cliff and Lyme Regis, comprising Johnny Potter, Tristian Wakeley and Tim Vincent, scored 81 points and third were the trio of Darren Mears, Pete Howarth and S. Lugger with 78 points.
