Millwey Rise went down by the odd goal in three when they visited Beer Reserves for their latest Macron League Division Five game, writes Dick Sturch.
Injuries and disallowed goals blighted Millwey’s afternoon.
In a first half that finished one a piece, Nathan Wormsley scored the home teams goal then almost immediately left the field with a recurrence of a hamstring injury and was replaced by Tyler Allen.
The second half saw further substitutions to replace the injured Alex Rocket and Haydn Lewis who was unwell. On top of this Millwey had two goals disallowed for off-side and missed several chances to equalise the winning goal scored by the visitors 15 minutes into the half.
The bad luck was further compounded with news that striker Levi Hoole is now unlikely to be available for some weeks to come because of further damage to his knee injury.
On Saturday (December 10), Whipton & Pinhoe are the visitors to Cloakham Lawns (2.15pm).
The Rise second team travel to East Budleigh (2.15pm).
