James Ashforth ran the Giants Head Marathon on Saturday, which started in a small village called Sydling St Nicholas, writes Dave Mutter.

The route, which was mainly off road rose and fell for the whole 26.6 miles or should I say 27.3 miles.

It was at about mile nine when he went through Cerne Abbas and passed the Giant. (A big ancient chalk carving of a man).

James found the course tough and managed to cross the line in five hours and 48 minutes which was about middle of the pack of 368 runners.

It was all worth it in the end as James was duly rewarded with a medal with the Giant on it.
