Honiton thirds went down 3-0 in their second successive meeting with Lapford.
Despite the defeat, Town thirds boss Andrew Pike was upbeat about the performance.
He said: “It was a better performance from us. The young lads showed great character against a strong side who themselves, played significantly better than they had seven days before in the Mountbatten Park meeting. I felt we matched them physically in all areas. The back four of Jake Davies, Kieran Pike, Chris Williams and Karl Allen were solid for most of the game, whilst Anchorman Rowan Symonds again put in a great shift in goal in a fetching pink shirt provided by Lapford.
“Results may have taken a slide, but I am still encouraged by the mature performances the entire team put in week after week, we haven’t finished winning for the season just yet I’m sure.”
On Saturday Town thirds visit Exmouth Amateurs thirds in what is their penultimate away game of the Fresha league Nine season.
