The Axe Cliff seniors managed to beat the soggy weather and see some play last week, writes Peter Motson.
They played their first 150hole stableford competition of the New Year.
First place went to Phil Wilkins, playing off a handicap of 14, with 32 points.
The runner-up was John Mant, playing off 19, with 29 points and third place was bagged by Peter Hornsby, who is a 26 handicapper, and recorded 26 points.
