Stockland Tennis Club finished off their season with a well supported Finals Day, writes Cathy Derryman.
All the finals were close affairs and standard of play was very high.
The ladies’ singles final saw Jenny Whitley defeat Sally Culiffe whilst in the men’s singles final there was victory for Paul Drew over Mike Berry
In the mixed doubles Steve Whitley and Marion Beranek edged out Simon Durrant and Angela Mileham in a thriller that went the distance.
In the ladies’ doubles there was success for the pairing of Serena Kerr and Jackie Sherwood at the expense of Leo Allen and Jenny Whitley whilst the men’s doubles final was won by Paul Drew and Ted Espire with the runners-up being Bruno Hanoman and Jim Durrant.
