Honiton Terrors Under-11s were 3-1 winners in a compelling East Devon Youth League encounter with Millwey Blues.
Both teams made nervous starts before Dominic McCreadie came close to scoring.
With Jordan Harrison and Joseph Charlton impressing in front-running roles it was no more than Terrors deserved when they went ahead, albeit courtesy of an own goal.
En-to-end action followed, but there were no further goals by half-time. After the break solid defending from Jake Mabbutt and Ben Lapping and creative and industrious midfield work from Elliott Holdsworth and Jordan Harrison led to a second Terrors goal. It was Ewen Evans who scored it with a superb long-range strike.
Blues responded well and got a goal back. They pressed for an equaliser, but found the Terrors defence unwilling to concede a second, and when they were broken down Terrors goalkeeper Harry Horn was solid with his handling. A superb strike from Zac Harrison completed the scoring. Louie Stamp and Ewan Evans shared the Terrors Man of the Match award.
