Honiton bowler Sue Evans was the runner-up in the four wood singles at the National Finals held at Leamington Spa, writes Tony Broughton.
Sue was beaten in the final by fellow Devon bowler and 2014 Commonwealth Games singles and pairs silver medallist, Natalie Melmore, 11-21.
This is only the second time in history that two players from same County have got into the final.
Sue’s victims on route to the final were J Parker, 21- 7, M Hendry, 21- 16, P Lambshead, 21-10, K Hawes, a current England International, 21-8 and D Brookes, 21- 19.
Sue also got to the quarter finals of the Champion of Champions beating Amy Truran the double England reigning 4-wood singles champion 21-10, but losing out to Helen Mason, 10-21.
