Seaton suffered a 20-run defeat at Ashburton.
Sixteen-year-old Tim Mitchell claimed another three wickets, playing a key role as the home side were restricted to 186-8.
Skipper Ben Morgan top scored with 32 in the run chase that also saw contributions from Kev Moran (29) and Ed Hunt (23).
However the final wicket fell with Seaton those 20 runs shy of victory.
The loss leaves Seaton fifth in the D Division with 45 points from five games. On Saturday they are again away when they travel to Lyme Regis who will start the match three points and one place below them in the table.
