The first Sunday of November saw AVR duo Graham and Diane Newton take part in the Bideford 10 Miler road race, writes Dave Mutter.
This is a fast, flat, race from Bideford out to Braunton and back along the Tarka Trail. Despite the high winds and hail storm Graham managed to achieve a PB of 1:10:35 winning a lovely glass trophy in his age category.
Diane, running her first 10 mile road race, found the head wind off the River Torridge along the Tarka Trail hard going.
However, she was happy to arrive at the finish soaked, tired but still cheerful in 1:43:24.
