Honiton Town Reserves 3, Newton St. Cyres 1 Town boss John Lewis delighted with his side’s all-round performance against a strong visiting outfit.
Lewis said: “The lads played some brilliant football at times, and again Stuart ‘Sid’ Mackay was pick of the team. His shift was special, but the whole team chipped in. It was a most competent show and our strength in depth can take us a long way this season.”
Joe Dixon netted twice, each time with his head and the other Town goal came from Charlie Lane, the latter on his way back to regular action after injury.
On Saturday the side entertain Fluxton (2.15pm) at home in a league game as they look to stay hot on the heels of the only team to sit above them in the Division Six table, Otterton.
