Only the Lyme Regis men managed a game in the leagues this week, writes Paul Moffitt.

Lyme A and B were both resting whilst the ladies’ had their game rained off, this having an all too familiar ring to last years problems with the weather.

On the friendly front we won only one of our three games, and to a strong Ilminster side we lost on all five rinks!

On the social side, the Club made a foray into the quiz scene hosting an open night, with supper, which attracted over 60 members of the Club and members of the public. It proved to be a very popular evening and one which the Club are hoping to repeat again in September. Special thanks must go to Ann & Trevor Allman for organising it; Sue Wood and all her helpers in the kitchen and, lastly, thanks to our quizmaster Richard Cridge. The Club’s next big event will be a ‘Big Breakfast’ on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27, when everyone will be welcome.

This one went down to the wire with Don Meylan’s rink securing 5 shots on the last end thus enabling Paul Moffitt to put his last wood in his pocket. Probably the best place!
