Three Ts were up against old rivals Hi Q and with both starting with the same number of goals it promised to be a close game.

At quarter time Tip Top Trees were 15-12 up, a lead they had increased by a single goal to 22-18 at half way. With Jenny Robinson playing well for the Trees and Sadie Moran doing well for Hi Q the third quarter was even. In the final quarter 3Ts held off Hi Q and increased their lead to win by 34-28.

Howden Hawks picked up their first win at the expense of Pixies, thanks to a fine performance from Tara Andrews. Hawks started strongly and by half way were 32-21 to the good. Despite strong play from Rachel Edwards for Pixies the Hawks continued to dominate. Despite the final quarter being goal for goal, Hawks had done enough to win by 51-37 and pick up their first points of the campaign.

Sidmouth Toucans were up against JD Tyres, with both sides looking for their first win. JD had the best of the first quarter to lead by 21-19. The second quarter was another close thing with the game seeing a fine contest between Helen Freemantle for JD and Anna Rowson for Toucans, with Sidmouth edging 28-27 ahead. The third period saw Toucans move another goal ahead of JD at 35-33, but leaving the final period wide open. Once again the Toucans had the edge to hold on to win by 47-42.

The final game saw Wasps and OPG meet. Wasps gained an early advantage and by half way were 26-14 in front thanks to good play from Nikki Field. Despite fine play from Tracy Moran for OPG they were left chasing the game with Wasps holding on to win by 37-30 and move three points clear as the league takes it’s Easter break.
