Honiton anglers on tour
Seven members of the Honiton Sea Angling Club have just returned from an angling adventure in Southern Ireland. The group were based near Valencia Island on the Ring of Kerry and there was good shore fishing all week. Twenty one species were caught including: dab, cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse, trigger fish, pollack, conger, mullet, bull huss and cod.
Members caught 29 fish over the 100 per cent specimen mark for fish to register to the Angling Trust, who are the main organisation who look after anglers interests.
Top angler was Terry Hartnell who landed the best specimen of the week which was a super shore Pollack of 9-0-4. (180 per cent). Interested in fishing? Contact Honiton SAC at www.honitonsac.co.uk
